This Refugee Week, we’re highlighting a powerful podcast series produced by Wollongong Youth Services - Young & Heard: Our Journeys, Our Stories. The stories within amplify the voices and lived experiences of young refugees in our community. The series brings together four deeply personal stories that reflect the realities of starting over in a new country. Listeners are invited to hear about the challenges of leaving home, navigating unfamiliar environments, and rebuilding a sense of belonging. These stories explore growing up between cultures, overcoming language barriers, while highlighting the resilience and determination it takes to build a new life. Our Journeys, Our Stories is part of an ongoing series developed through our Youth Services Podcast 101 workshops, delivered throughout the school term. These workshops support young people to build skills, confidence, and platforms to share their stories in spaces that are truly their own. These stories remind us that diversity is one of Wollongong’s greatest strengths. The cultures, perspectives, and experiences that make up our community help create a more compassionate and connected city. When we take the time to listen, we build a stronger Wollongong together. An important message made even more powerful when shared by our very own young people. 🗓️ New episodes drop daily this week (Mon–Thurs) at 4pm 🎧 Listen here: https://lnkd.in/gE-NmrHW...
