From one office to 13 buildings – what a 45-year journey! In 1980, discussions between Professor Lord Bhattacharyya and Lord Jack Butterworth, then Vice-Chancellor of the University of Warwick, led to the creation of a manufacturing, teaching, and research group designed to encourage industry and academia to work together. Armed with just a table, a chair, a secretary – and a bold mission to revitalise UK manufacturing – WMG was born. Today, we’re home to 25+ research areas, 800+ staff, and over 33,000 alumni. A big legacy – and an even brighter future 💚 #WMG45 #NationalEngineeringDay
