From classic cars to criminal investigations (and more)… As we celebrate 45 years of innovation, our 3D scanning expertise exemplifies Professor Lord Bhattacharyya’s vision to connect industry with academia to solve real-world challenges. In the early 2000s, our scanning journey was already breaking new ground, with Professor Mark Williams using a £350,000 laser scanner to capture the iconic Lea-Francis Hyper digitally. Today, we are pioneering advanced X-ray imaging, with more than 20 years of expertise, five X-ray CT scanners, and our dedicated Centre for Imaging, Metrology and Additive Technologies (CIMAT). From solving murders with West Midlands Police to finding secret teeth in dinosaurs, our researchers and engineers deliver impact across multiple industries and sectors, including automotive, archaeology, healthcare, and forensics.
