WIPO Director General Daren Tang visited Nigeria, where he held discussions on strengthening the country's innovation ecosystem, supporting startup commercialization and using intellectual property as a catalyst for job creation and investment attraction. During his visit, Mr. Tang met with Vice President Kashim Shettima to discuss Nigeria's newly adopted National Intellectual Property Policy and Strategy and the role of IP to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, startups, youth innovators and creators, while enhancing the country’s competitiveness in regional and global markets. The Director General also held discussions with ministers across finance, trade, digital economy, and the creative industries.
