Housing Lunch & Learn | PIA Women in Planning | 9 June Topic: Family‑Friendly Design as Gender Equity: Rethinking Housing Supply Through Care, Safety and Liveability. Our session will feature Natalia Krysiak, whose work places families, children and caregiving at the centre of housing and planning policy. Her research and policy recommendations call for structural reform across federal, state and local governments - from child‑friendly community charters to rethinking design guidelines - to ensure housing genuinely supports everyday care, safety and wellbeing. 🔍 Why this matters for gender equity Planning that centres caregiving needs inherently supports women, who continue to carry disproportionate care responsibilities An intergenerational lens ensures housing works not just for today, but for future cohorts of women and children Shifting planning frameworks now can prevent the compounding of inequality and instead create homes and neighbourhoods that enable wellbeing, inclusion and choice This session is for planners, designers and policy professionals interested in how housing supply, design standards and planning systems can better respond to lived experience. 📅 9 June 🧠 Lunch & Learn 👥 PIA Women in Planning 🔗 Register here: https://lnkd.in/g_EHDr-i We’d love to see you there. #WomenInPlanning #GenderEquity #HousingPolicy #FamilyFriendlyDesign #CareAndPlanning #UrbanPlanning #Liveability #PIA
