There is a "media agency" that's very active on LinkedIn, collecting details of pitch calls from editors (publically posted), and then trying to sell "access." Some writers have been misled into thinking that in order to pitch these media outlets, they must subscribe to this agency's subscription service. Freelancers: Reputable media outlets do NOT make you pay money to pitch them. This agency has no affiliation with the publications, and you can surface these public pitch calls yourself with some googling. As an editor, this makes me wary of posting open pitch calls in the future. (Not naming names only because I don't want to give this scammy agency any more attention.)
