If you are adding someone on LinkedIn who you have never met, I *implore* you to click the "Add a note" button with your connection request. <300 characters can go a long way to increasing the odds that the person on the other end accepts a ping from a stranger. This site is riddled with low-quality outreach, so it's really not hard to stand out from the masses if you just add a little context. Don't be lazy.
