Earlier this week, our WiCyS chapter and students from the School of Information Technology at the University of Cincinnati had the incredible opportunity to attend a site visit to Fifth Third Bank! Our group got the chance to work through an example incident response scenario, using Backdoors and Breaches. Through this exercise, we learned about various detection tools, attack vectors, and data exfiltration methods, as well as how to logically reason through the investigation of a cybersecurity incident. A special thank you to Derek Volmering and Elsy Prempeh, MSIT for leading our group through the exercise! Additionally, we had the chance to have individual conversations and engage in a panel Q&A with professionals from different paths within Fifth Third Bank's security team. Thank you to Lori Anello, Margaret Schwab, Elsy Prempeh, Lando Toothman, and Jaclyn Spangler for sharing your career insights with our group! Finally, thank you to Stephanie Doyle for organizing this great event and to all the students who participated. We look forward to next year's visit!
