97% of cold email campaigns fail before the first email is even sent. Nothing to do with copy. Nothing to do with timing. Nothing to do with subject lines. Here's where they actually die: 1. The list is garbage Scraped from public databases, 35% bounce rate, 60% irrelevant roles. You're pitching Finance VPs for a marketing tool. Dead on arrival. 2. Domains aren't warmed A 2-week-old domain sending 200 emails/day goes straight to spam. Nobody sees the email regardless of how good it is. 3. SPF / DKIM / DMARC misconfigured One bad record and Microsoft ATP blocks the whole campaign for the week. Most founders don't even know these exist. 4. Personalization is fake "Hi {first_name}, I noticed you're in the SaaS space" is worse than no personalization. Prospects are trained to delete on sight. 5. No reply detection The sequence keeps firing at a prospect who already said yes. Looks spammy. Burns the relationship before sales even picks up.
