"It's not all about making a profit. For me, it's the giving back that is crucial to how we do things — for our community, for our workers and for the planet." — Werner Jansen, Co-Owner and CEO, Bloomia What's hidden in these tulips? More than you'd think. 🌷 Fresh flowers are a tradition for Mother's Day, and tulips are one of many beautiful choices we offer at Whole Foods Market. Our Sourced for Good tulips come from Bloomia, a grower based in Virginia. Through the program, we pay a premium on every purchase — and at Bloomia, that premium goes directly back to workers to supplement their wages. In 2025 alone, we provided more than $400,000 in premiums to Bloomia. Fair wages are just the beginning. Bloomia is investing in its operations, its community and the planet: ☀️ Recently installed solar panels reduce electricity use for greenhouse heating 💧 A $600,000 water recirculation system will cut fresh water use by 80% 📦 Shipping boxes include recycled fiber; retail packaging is made from certified recycled plastic ♻️ UPCs are printed directly on packaging (no stickers!) to keep it recyclable 🤝 We buy tulips year-round, enabling Bloomia to provide stable, year-round employment Earlier this spring, Bloomia opened its first pick-your-own tulip farm with a Tulip Festival featuring local food trucks, wineries, breweries and musicians — welcoming visitors from Maryland and Washington, D.C., to enjoy over one million tulips in bloom. Stop by your local Whole Foods Market to bring a little of that joy — and the hidden benefits of Sourced for Good — to the Mom in your life this Sunday! #SourcedForGood #Sustainability #FairWages #TeamWFM
