"There are really two things that keep me motivated: people and the opportunity for new challenges. I found both at Whole Foods Market. I've met so many passionate Team Members and leaders who have helped me grow — not just as a leader, but as a person. People say you always stay for the people, and in my experience, that's true. Every company I've worked for has cared about Team Member happiness, but Whole Foods does it better than anyone else. The people here are truly extraordinary. My journey with Whole Foods Market began at our Richmond, U.K., store, where I joined as a Bakery Team Leader. Coming from hospitality, moving into retail was both exciting and challenging — but I had the support of my peers from day one and felt at home quickly. From there, I moved into an Assistant Store Team Leader role at our Fulham store, thanks in large part to Store Team Leader (STL) Fabi Silva’s encouragement and belief in me. Working alongside STL Alex Ishchuk at Fulham was my turning point: He taught me so much about what it means to be an STL — the operational standards, the mindset, the responsibility. That experience gave me the confidence to put myself forward when a leadership role opened up, which I currently hold at our Stoke Newington store. Opening a new store is such a unique experience — you get to make it your own and build something special with your team from the very beginning. I'm genuinely excited to work alongside my leadership team to bring to life our new St. James store. I know how talented they are, and I can't wait to see them shine and elevate both the store and our culture. I'm proud to be opening what will be the last of six store openings this spring — closing out a beautiful journey of growth for Whole Foods Market in the U.K. with a bit of panache." — Melanie Auriac, Store Team Leader #NourishPurpose #TeamWFM #NSO
