Meet Marcus, our Managing Director here at Whites 👋 After a year off in New Zealand between leaving school and further education, Marcus studied land management at the Royal Agricultural University (RAU). He embarked on his professional career as a trainee surveyor on a large, diverse, privately owned estate on the edge of The New Forest. In 1989, he qualified as a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS), and then in 1992, he joined ‘The Whites family firm’, emphasising the expansion of the letting and management side of the business. Over the years, the Whites’ managed portfolio has grown enormously. Marcus has become the Managing Director, and Whites has evolved into a leading estate and letting agent. Selling and letting properties ranging from large country houses in the surrounding area to family homes, and smaller flats in Salisbury’s City Centre. Marcus believes that experience combined with enthusiasm is the key to providing a successful business – with the positive feedback from long-standing clients and tenants, he feels this approach effectively provides professional and excellent customer service. Outside of work, Marcus is family-focused and has been happily married to Jo for over 29 years. They have three children (Mimi, Oscar and Rufus) and three fox-red labradors. They all love an outdoor life based around their village home west of Salisbury and like nothing better in the summer than to potter around in their small boat, enjoying fishing trips and exploring the Cornish coastline.
