⚽️ Third quarter-final: Norway against England. Two countries, two very different approaches to citizen participation. 🇳🇴 Norway dared to hand citizens selected by lot a genuinely long-term question: the future of its sovereign wealth fund, one of the largest in the world, and the trade-offs to be made on behalf of future generations. A way of bringing a citizen voice into a space usually reserved for financial experts and policymakers. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 England, for its part, has established itself as a reference point for citizens' assemblies, both in research and in practice. Organisations like Involve have supported and documented numerous local and national assemblies, including the Climate Assembly UK, helping turn the method into a structured field of expertise, with its own standards for quality and random selection. On one side, the boldness of opening up a major financial decision to citizens. On the other hand, the rigour of a methodological know-how that inspires practitioners worldwide. 🏅 Between Norway and England, who has your vote for this quarter of democratic innovation? -------- Earth4All  Karoline Andaur Framtiden i våre hender  Anja Riise Save the Children Norway  Involve Sarah Allan Sortition Foundation  Tom Lord Brett Hennig  UCL Constitution Unit Alan Renwick Thomas Berman  SoCentral Nicolai Tangen  Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM) G1000 Ben Eersels Isabelle Dresse DemocracyNext James MacDonald-Nelson Claudia Chwalisz
