I’m not much for resolutions, but these—my grandmother’s from 1940–are good ideas every day. She was a remarkable woman, with an undergraduate and masters degree in zoology from the University of Michigan. She married my grandfather, also a Michigan grad (a forester) and moved to Arkansas. I am regularly reminded of why I am glad that our kids’ middle names (Gordon and Alma) come from them.
