From Lake Victoria to Last Mile Connection: The WeTu Breakthrough! What started as a bold idea to bring safe drinking water to underserved communities in rural Western Kenya is now evolving into something far bigger than we imagined. WE!Hub Victoria Limited began its journey in the water sector seven years back funded by our Shareholders Siemens Stiftung by pumping and treating water from Lake Victoria through water-energy hubs across four counties and dispensing it via water ATMs. Along the way, we listened, learned, and adapted. After being shortlisted into a rural water accelerator program led by Cewas, we pivoted to include household water connections - a move that transformed our vision and opened new possibilities for the communities we serve. What followed was an exciting chain of milestones: 💧 An initial pilot project 💧 Continued accelerator support from Aqua for All and their partners 💧 And now… our first blended finance facility from VOx Impuls Today, we are proud to announce the beginning of a new chapter. From just 20 connected households in the Sori community, Migori County, we are now scaling to connect 100 additional households with safe, reliable water access thanks to VOx Impuls who believed in us. This is more than infrastructure. It is dignity. It is health. It is opportunity. It is hope flowing directly into homes. This milestone also moves us closer to becoming a registered small-scale water service provider operating under a sub-license from Migori Water and Sanitation Company. None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of our partners, including VOx Impuls, Aqua for All, Cewas, the County Government of Migori, the communities that continue to believe in us, and our passionate team working tirelessly behind the scenes. We are only getting started. The future of community-driven water access in Africa is being built one connection at a time. 🚰🌍 #VOxImpuls #CEWAS #AquaForAll #SiemensStfitung #WaterAccess #ImpactInvesting #SocialEnterprise #Kenya #ClimateInnovation #RuralDevelopment #BlendedFinance #CommunityImpact #SDG6 #WaterForAll #Impact
