Advancing innovation and international collaboration in nuclear safety and training. A group of international severe accident experts visited our Madrid offices while they participated in the ERMSAR 2026 Congress, held this year in Spain and organized by CIEMAT within the framework of the European SEAKNOT project and SNETP/NUGENIA Technical Area 2. As part of the 12th edition of the European Review Meeting on Severe Accident Research — the only conference worldwide entirely dedicated to severe accidents — Westinghouse hosted the technical visit focused on state-of-the-art nuclear simulators. During the visit, participants were introduced to: 🔹 The ASSAS Simulator, Severe Accident Simulator developed within the European ASSAS research project 🔹 The AP1000® Simulator, the full-scope simulator of Westinghouse’s advanced modular reactor, for operator training 🔹 The Trillo NPP Simulator, with extensive experience in training and operational support With more than 60 experts attending, the success of the visit demonstrates the strong interest in these topics and Westinghouse’s commitment to innovation and training as key pillars of Nuclear Safety and operational efficiency. Westinghouse congratulates CIEMAT for the excellent organization of ERMSAR 2026. #ERMSAR2026 #TechnicalVisit #NuclearIndustry
