Project Update: Thompson Wetland & Stream Mitigation Bank Exciting progress from Flathead County, Montana. Originally approved in October 2025, WES has begun reseeding efforts following months of excavation and winter construction. Ethan Martin, Associate Conservation Planner, shared this field update: "After a wet spring on the Thompson River site following months of excavation, restored areas showed signs of soil saturation, with some low-lying areas temporarily inundated. Re-seeding efforts are now underway, and we’re looking forward to seeing new growth emerge over the coming year. We were also fortunate to spot a pair of sandhill cranes on site, a hopeful reminder of the role this project can play in supporting migratory birds traveling through the area for years to come."
