Some people choose a career. Russ Fields answered a calling. Today, June 30, 2026, my friend, mentor, and one of the finest men I have ever had the privilege of knowing — Deputy United States Marshal Russ Fields — retires after a career defined by integrity, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to justice. I've known Russ for almost 25 years. He was one of the first people to invest in me professionally and show me what it truly means to lead with character. What set Russ apart wasn't just what he did — it was how he did it. He believed in an honest day's work for an honest day's pay. No shortcuts. No excuses. Just show up, do the work, and serve the mission. And what a mission it was. Russ spent his career as a criminal investigator and fugitive hunter. He recovered missing children who might never have been found. He closed complex cases that others had given up on. He hunted cold cases with the same fire today as he had on day one. He did the hard work that most people never see and never know about — so that others could sleep safely at night. But ask Russ what he's most proud of, and I guarantee it won't be a case number or a commendation. It will be his faith. His family. His wife, his children, and his grandchildren. Because at the core of everything Russ Fields is — he is a man of God, a devoted husband, a proud father, and a grandfather who has earned every moment of the rest he now deserves. Thank you for your service to this nation. Thank you for the lives you changed, the children you brought home, and the justice you delivered on behalf of people who had no one else. "Justice is not an act, it is a calling." You lived that calling, my friend. Enjoy every single moment of what comes next. Welcome to retirement. You've earned it. 🇺🇸 #RetiredAndHonored #UnitedStatesMarshal #Leadership #ServantLeadership #Gratitude #JusticeIsACalling #HonorAndService #GiveConnectGrow
