When we talk about frontline workforce for detecting, responding and controlling infectious diseases outbreaks, we need to include veterinarians and the laboratory microbiologists. Recently ASM, in partnership with Project HOPE and Ethiopian Animal Health Institute, delivered trainings to four regional veterinary labs for identification & AST of priority pathogens. Funded through DoS’s Health Security Activity, ASM is building surveillance capacity across Afar, Amhara and Tigray regions.
