While I was in Cambridge this week, a fellow partner joked that I am now a “toddler”👶🏻, having just turned one in my Deloitte partner journey. Exactly one year later, I found myself at the Cambridge Judge Business School as part of the inaugural Cohort of Deloitte’s Partner Leadership Mastery Program (PLMP) 2.0. To spend my 1st anniversary learning alongside fellow partners from across SEA at Cambridge was especially fitting! The week was filled with insightful discussions on leadership, strategy, intellectual curiosity and the opportunities/ challenges presented by AI. We had the great privilege of learning from David Hill and the amazing Cambridge professors Stelios Kavadias, Kishore Sengupta, Antonio Weiss and many others. Hearing their interesting take across research and practice - these are not just relevant to my daily work but also very close to heart to what I do in my teaching. And perhaps the most memorable lesson came on the River Cam. During our rowing session 🚣 , it became clear very quickly that even a slight change in one person’s stroke affected the whole boat (leading to many oops and near capsizes 😂). Progress depended on everyone pulling together. An apt metaphor for a partner(ship) - pun intended. Reflecting on the past year, what strikes me most is the investment that Deloitte continues to make in developing its people. Grateful for the opportunity, the friendships, and the reminder that there is always more to learn. Thank you to everyone who made this possible!
