Who knew that the most controversial question I asked Jackie Tohn, star of the Netflix breakout hit “Nobody Wants This,” would be “Challah: plain or raisin?” On a night when Jewish Federation Bay Area awarded the deserving Susie Sorkin the prestigious Judith Chapman Memorial Women's Leadership Award, I was thrilled to moderate a live conversation with Jackie (aka “Esther”). Huge props to Susie, Joy Sisisky, the team at Federation, and notably Stacey Silver, whose vision for building meaningful community experiences was evident in every detail.
