Early results from a privacy preserving Type 2 diabetes screening pilot: In under two weeks, DiabetesDAO ran a public FINDRISC (Finnish Diabetes Risk Score) assessment using patient‑owned health profiles powered by Welshare Health. What happened • About 650 people created a Welshare profile; about 400 completed the assessment (about 62% completion). • 390+ responses have been analyzed so far; 27 individuals (about 6.9%) show an elevated 10‑year risk. • These individuals can now be recontacted privately and with consent for education, prevention programs, or research follow‑up, without exposing identity or sharing raw data. How it works Participants authenticate with a key they control and store responses in an app‑specific data vault. Researchers and automated workflows (AI agents) can run analyses and send privacy‑preserving invitations, enabling risk stratification and n=1 interventions while aligning with GDPR principles of consent and data minimization. Why it matters For providers, payers, and research teams, this is a practical path to collect real‑world patient‑reported data, triage risk, and operationalize prevention without traditional data handoffs. What’s next • DiabetesDAO will open a restricted demo for partners to test private recontact for higher‑risk cohorts. • Developers can review the docs and sample integrations. • Live Q&A on Sep 22 at 5:00 PM CEST.
