We’re expanding access to free credit, money management, and small business coaching with our new HOPE Inside center in Chula Vista, California. We’re proud to open these centers as part of our long-term partnership with Operation HOPE, which John Hope Bryant formed right in Southern California. These efforts are part of our Banking Inclusion Initiative, a 10-year commitment connecting communities with low-cost banking and financial education. Our HOPE Inside centers have served more than 20,000 clients, regardless if they bank with us or not. That number will continue to grow as we expand the program to 50 Wells Fargo HOPE Inside centers around the country by the end of the year. “We intentionally chose Chula Vista to place a small business HOPE Inside center because while there is a growing small business community, there is also a sizable unbanked and underbanked population,” said Nadia van de Walle, our head of Banking Inclusion Initiative. Monica Carlos, the Operation HOPE coach serving Chula Vista, offers one-on-one guidance and educational workshops in both English and Spanish. She draws from years of business experience to help local entrepreneurs grow their business while staying on top of their personal finances. “A lot of my clients come for emotional support. There’s a lot of emotional pressure when you’re starting a business or when you are trying to fix your credit,” she said. “Not only do you have to pay your debt, but you also have to feed your children.” Read more about HOPE Inside’s impact in Southern California: https://lnkd.in/exgZDbTq
