SMART GLASSES LOST THEIR FIRST LEGAL TERRITORY IN AMERICA On July 20, 2026, every courthouse in the state of New York closes its doors to smart glasses. The prohibition, announced in a July 1 memo from the Office of Court Administration, applies to more than 1,240 state, county, city, town, and village courts operating under the New York State Unified Court System across the state's 62 counties. No other American state has done anything this sweeping.
