🌍 Today is more than a date on the calendar. World Environment Day is a global call to action and this year’s theme couldn’t be clearer: climate action, now! At WE Soda, our biggest contribution to climate action lies in the low-carbon nature of natural soda ash. By its very nature, it can deliver up to 80% lower carbon emissions compared to synthetic alternatives. That’s not a future ambition, that’s an action available today. In a world racing to decarbonise, this matters. Because for many customers, reducing their footprint doesn’t always require reinventing processes. Sometimes, it can start with a single decision: switching to a lower-carbon raw material. From glass to batteries to detergents, this shift has ripple effects across global supply chains. And climate action at WE Soda doesn’t stop there. 🎯 Guided by our Sustainability Plan to 2050, we are setting clear, measurable targets: • Safety - Zero high consequence accidents by 2028 • Net Zero - Achieve Net Zero across our business by 2050 • Lowest Carbon Products - Always produce soda ash with the world’s lowest carbon and water footprint • Water and Nature - Water neutral and nature positive by 2040 • Diversity - 50% of middle and senior management to be female by 2035 • Sustainability Standards - Each mine to achieve IRMA 75 by 2030 and IRMA 100 by 2040 From large-scale water resilience projects in Türkiye to employee-led recycling initiatives in the US, these ambitions are already translating into practical action on the ground. 📣 The message this World Environment Day is simple: Climate action doesn’t always have to be complicated, but it does have to start now.
