How do we help secure Oslo’s future?    The “New Water Supply Oslo” project is one of the most important infrastructure investments in Norway. The goal is simple: a safe, reliable drinking water system for the entire capital city. At Sandvik Ground Support, we are proud to support the Skanska team in the very challenging E5 tunnel section.    What is the situation there?    Ground conditions are tough - heavily fractured rock combined with high groundwater pressure. While the TBM was advancing, heavy water ingress occurred. To keep the TBM moving forward safely and efficiently, those inflows had to be sealed very quickly.    Our Sandvik Nordics ground support team supplied specialized injection systems for efficient waterstop, which did create a strong, long-lasting waterproof barrier around the tunnel.
