WBSG is proud to announce that we have been selected to design, deliver, and install the full glass façade package for the Concert Hall and Renovation of the Ostrava House of Culture — an iconic project by Steven Holl Architects and Architecture Acts s.r.o.. The new concert hall is among the most technically advanced cultural buildings currently under construction in Central Europe. Its façade concept integrates steel-and-glass curtain wall systems within a double-curved rainscreen envelope, creating a visually striking and highly engineered building skin to meet the structural and acoustic demands of a world-class concert hall. WBSG has been awarded the full scope covering detailed design, procurement, fabrication, and installation of the curtain wall and skylight systems — in total approximately 2,200 m² of high-performance façade area, including the integration of electrochromic glass and specialised acoustic glazing. We thank the Association for the Ostrava Concert Hall, IMOS Brno a.s. – IPS Třinec, and AED project, a.s. for their trust. The Ostrava Concert Hall also marks an important milestone for WBSG — our first project in the Czech Republic. We are delighted to enter this neighbouring market with such a prestigious commission and look forward to further exploring the opportunities it has to offer. The project is now under construction and scheduled for completion in 2028 — becoming the future home of the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra.
