At WaterNSW, women contribute across every part of our organisation: from operations in the field and engineering, to science, technology, safety, policy and leadership. Their expertise, resilience and commitment strengthen our decisions and improve outcomes for the people we serve. This year’s theme for International Women’s Day, #BalancingTheScales, is a reminder that gender equality doesn’t happen by chance. It requires intention, accountability and sustained action — especially in industries where women have been historically underrepresented. We know that building a truly inclusive organisation means looking honestly at where inequities persist and committing to practical steps to address them. We’re focused on actions that make a real difference: 🙋♀️ using inclusive recruitment practices 🙋♀️ investing in pathways for women to step into senior roles 🙋♀️offering development opportunities across all parts of our organisation, including STEM 🙋♀️ supporting flexible work 🙋♀️ tracking our progress to stay accountable ⚖️ Balancing the scales isn’t a one day conversation. It shows up in everyday behaviours, inclusive leadership, and the choices we make about how work gets done and who gets heard. When everyone is supported to thrive, our teams are stronger, our culture is healthier and our organisation is better equipped to serve the communities of NSW. 👩🔬 This International Women’s Day, we reaffirm our commitment to doing the work — listening, learning and taking action — so that progress continues long after 8 March. #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2026 #BalancingTheScales #GenderEquality #InclusionAndDiversity #Leadership #WaterNSW
