The Alkimos to Wanneroo Desalination Pipeline project has reached another major milestone 🎉 More than half of the pipeline that will connect the first stage of the Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant to Perth’s water network is now complete, with around 17 km of the 33.5 km pipeline laid. That’s 17 km of critical infrastructure that will help deliver safe, reliable drinking water to more than 2.5 million Western Australians, supporting communities and growth across the state. These are some of the largest water pipelines ever manufactured in WA, with a 1.6 m internal diameter, and proudly manufactured locally by Steel Mains in Kwinana.
