Investing in resilient water infrastructure to support regional communities 💧 We’re progressing with a water infrastructure project in Guilderton, with construction set to begin on a 7.4‑kilometre pipeline linking Sovereign Hill to the town as part of a joint Cook and Albanese government initiative. Delivered by Water Corporation and jointly funded through the National Water Grid Fund, the project will supplement Guilderton’s drinking water with a more sustainable groundwater source located further inland. By reducing reliance on shallow coastal aquifers, which are more saline and increasingly vulnerable to declining rainfall, the pipeline will strengthen water security and improve the overall quality and reliability of the town’s supply. Construction is expected to be completed by late 2026. This work reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering future‑focused water solutions, supporting regional resilience and responding to the long‑term impacts of climate change.
