I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to represent Toronto Metropolitan University at the Chemical Institute of Canada / Institut de Chimie du Canada Societies for Plant and Process Design x2026 Conference and Exhibition in Toronto from May 24 to 28. It was an honor to compete alongside my teammates against talented students from universities across Canada, all showcasing innovative and technically impressive capstone projects. The experience was both challenging and rewarding, and I am especially proud that our team earned 3rd place nationally among such strong competition. Presenting our capstone project and bringing months of hard work to life was a highlight of my undergraduate journey. Our project focused on the industrial chemical upcycling of PET plastic into terephthalic acid, and it was incredibly fulfilling to see our team's dedication, technical expertise, and collaboration recognized on a national stage. I am thankful for the opportunity to connect with so many talented students and professionals throughout the conference. This experience has been a memorable way to conclude my Chemical Engineering degree and has further strengthened my passion for sustainable process design and innovation.
