They went out and they made a difference.” Last year, Kerrville’s Walmart Supercenter became a force for good when unprecedented flooding from the Guadalupe River overtook the Texas Hill Country. Evacuees gathered in the parking lot to escape the water, and the City of Kerrville quickly named it the primary emergency refuge zone. What followed was a flurry of disaster response efforts that clothed, fed, and sheltered the community. For Store Manager Peter McFarlane, every decision was critical in those early hours.
