Did you know that in Australia, someone needs blood every 18 seconds? Yesterday was World Blood Donor Day, and as big supporters of the work Australian Red Cross Lifeblood does, we’d be remiss not to use the occasion to hype up the benefits of donating and nudge a few more people towards their nearest donation centre. With each donation saving up to 3 lives, we think the return on investment for an hour of your time and a moment of discomfort is pretty good - plus, there's always the snack afterwards (we've even spotted Tim Tams recently at our local!). You can check what blood types are needed most at any time on the Lifeblood website, but the reality is there is always demand across Australia. As we head into the colder months and illness picks up, there has never been a better time to start your donor journey.
