Standardized tests can’t correct gaps in skills, but they can reveal the support students need - and what courses they’re ready for. When a college professor has to pause to explain fractions or what an equal symbol means, that does a disservice to the entire class, university, and society overall. Let’s listen to educators and bring back objective measures of proficiency to admissions. We know NJ students can reach that bar. And we know the future will be brighter for it.
