Celebrating International Women’s Day at VVMF - Viral Vector Manufacturing Facility On Friday, members of the VVMF team and board had the privilege of attending the Women in Life Sciences Leadership Summit and Luncheon, generously hosted by AusBiotech and Medicines Australia. The energy throughout the day was inspiring as women and allies from across the sector came together to celebrate the remarkable contributions of women in life sciences by recognising achievements, building meaningful connections, and sharing candid advice and coaching to help accelerate the leadership pathways of future leaders. A highlight of the day was the Leadership Summit, where senior leaders openly shared insights shaped by their own lived experience. VVMF Chair Sue MacLeman joined a fireside chat with Geraldine Murphy of AstraZeneca, moderated by Erica Bremner Kneipp. Their reflections on mentoring, career growth, and what leadership looks like in the future beautifully embodied this year’s International Women’s Day theme: #GiveToGain. Our thanks to Dr Jane Ryan and Robyn Kruk AO, Non-Executive Directors of VVMF, for hosting our table and bringing together a diverse group of senior women from across the life sciences community. At VVMF, we are committed to building a culture where every voice is valued and every contribution has impact. Championing women in science and leadership is part of who we are and how we build our organisation.
