What are our alumni doing during Corona quarantine? Each day we interview an alumnus, today with Jan van Kampen. Jan studied Computer Science at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and is now Artist at #Kunsdt and owner of DoodleSoft. How are you doing? “Fine and healthy for now. My new study at AHK is currently on-hold, and my internships at elementary schools are canceled. This gives me more time to focus on software development again. I like to build software for society. Last weekend I created HeldNodig.nl in one night of hardcore coding. It's a platform where people can ask for help. Currently we get 10K new visitors every hour. All requests are picked up in 15 minutes now, so I'm kind of proud that this platform works, without my interference.” What social media post caught your attention? “The posts with #CoronaHulp and that’s the reason why I developed this platform. People were asking and offering help. But there was no overview at all. HeldNodig.nl is fixing these issues. People are watching over their neighbours, like they should.
