Today at the World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition, our CEO Guy Moeyens joined industry leaders in a panel discussion on Europe’s hydrogen future. “The next decade is critical. To unlock large-scale hydrogen imports and infrastructure investments, the market needs long-term clarity and confidence. With the right policy framework, the Netherlands can strengthen its position as a leading hydrogen hub for Europe”, said Guy Moeyens. At VTTI, we believe projects like Amplifhy – importing green ammonia via Rotterdam and Antwerp and converting it into clean hydrogen for European industry – are essential to building a scalable hydrogen economy. A key takeaway from the discussion: moving from ambition to investable infrastructure requires long-term policy certainty beyond 2030. Clear 2040 targets, aligned infrastructure development and targeted de-risking mechanisms will be critical to accelerate Europe’s energy transition.
