As part of our commitment to SDG 4: Quality Education, VTTI Kenya supports youth development near the terminal through practical education, vocational training and sport. In 2026, VTTI Kenya provided sponsorship support to 18 students, helping them access vocational training in fields including ICT, plumbing, mechanics, driving, forklift operations and safety training. By supporting students for the full duration of the course, the programme gives them a better chance to complete their training and move towards employment or self-sustaining livelihoods.  VTTI Kenya’s support also extends beyond the classroom. In 2025, the team sponsored a local basketball team with playing bibs, basketballs and a first-aid kit. Since then, the team has grown to 100 active players and recently secured third place at the National Basketball Championships.  By helping build confidence and create opportunities, these initiatives show how a small local team can make a meaningful contribution to what matters for future generations.
