Not because they aren’t beautiful, but because they require a more thoughtful approach. For Al Waab, bamboo became part of something larger. It has a character all of its own. Use too much of it, and that’s all you’ll see. The challenge was finding a way to make that happen. By working with slender bamboo slats instead of large panels, its character becomes part of the overall composition instead of dominating it. Combined with an embroidered leather feature wall and a composite staircase, the eye moves naturally through the interior instead of settling on a single material. “Step back and the bamboo fades into the background.
