Martin Luther King Jr. in Amsterdam, 1965 💡 60 years ago, Martin Luther King Jr. visited Amsterdam as a guest at our Dies Natalis celebration, where he received an honorary degree in Social Sciences for his work. The following day, he delivered an inspiring speech to VU students. You can listen to it here: edu.nl/veygh Every year, we honour his legacy through the Martin Luther King Lecture. This year’s lecture focused on Radical Social Justice, with keynote speaker Nani Jansen Reventlow sharing how law and social movements can work together to create real change. The evening also featured the Martin Luther King Spoken Word Contest, where young talents shared their interpretations of radical justice. Congratulations to all contestants and winners for their powerful performances! 💪
