Among the many discoveries at Glasgow Film Festival this year, the most memorable performances often came through sound. Films including Bouchra, Decorado, Allah Is Not Obliged, and Death Does Not Exist lean into voiceover as a way of revealing interior lives — letting doubt linger, letting thoughts repeat, letting characters speak before they fully understand themselves. The result is cinema that feels intimate and restless, shaped by voices thinking their way forward.
