On a snowy winter morning last year, Adam Dresh was driving his Volvo XC60 when a 400‑kilo moose suddenly stepped onto the road after an oncoming truck, giving him no time to react. The front of the car was badly damaged, but Adam and his colleague walked away without a single injury, and Volvo On Call dialled in to help. That was not luck – it was another real-world example of how our relentless commitment to safety helps protect and save lives. “My luck ran out that day, but the fact that I was driving a Volvo saved my life,” Adam wrote to us to express his gratitude. A few months later, he was invited to visit our Safety Centre in Gothenburg, Sweden, to witness a crash test with a moose dummy in a safe and controlled environment.
