🌬️ Global Wind Day | June 15 It started with a breeze. Wind energy today is one of the cornerstones of European power supply. With 1,300 gigawatts of installed capacity worldwide, wind power generates clean electricity for thousands of people — covering around 20 percent of Europe's electricity demand. What began as a technical pilot project in the 1990s has become critical infrastructure. The journey was not linear. It required pioneers willing to work under uncertain conditions, build local acceptance, and help shape markets before clear standards even existed. That is our story. Volkswind has been developing and operating wind farms for over 30 years — in Germany and across Europe. Not as a short-term investment, but as a long-term infrastructure commitment: from planning and operations through to repowering. On Global Wind Day, we don't look back to celebrate. We look ahead — because the energy transition needs wind power. More of it, planned faster, better integrated. Powerful. Future-proof. Indispensable. #GlobalWindDay
