Valuable encounters and conversations on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference yesterday, from 8 a.m. until well past midnight. For me, it was also a great opportunity to promote direct investments in Africa, which ultimately contribute to our security. Among other things, I attended the CSU's Transatlantic Forum, the International Democracy Union event, and a reception hosted by the United Arab Emirates. I also held several one-on-one meetings with members of parliament and business representatives from various countries. A particular highlight: As foundation that also supports the Bundestag's prayer breakfast, we organized a prayer breakfast at the MSC with around 50 guests from countries including Germany, Austria, Togo, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates.
