What if your voice doesn't have to be "perfect" to be useful? This is one of the most exciting observations emerging from our analysis of 1.8+ million voice-derived data points. We expected voice perturbation to change as pitch changed. It didn't! Across the conversational range, jitter, shimmer and HNR remained remarkably stable. Why does this matter? Because it suggests that the voice may be far more robust than we thought. If the physiological information within speech is resilient to everyday variation, then voice biomarkers may not require ideal recording conditions to remain informative. We're not claiming that sore throats or illness don't affect the voice. We're asking a bigger question: Could the underlying physiological signal remain stable even when the voice itself sounds different? If the answer is yes, it would be a significant step towards making voice a truly practical, real-world digital biomarker. This observation comes from a new paper currently being prepared using the VoiceBiota dataset. Sometimes the most exciting discovery isn't what changes. It's what doesn't. #voicebiota
