Celebrating National HIV Testing Day in New York City! A little rain couldn’t stop our SelectHealth Community Outreach team members Densil Thomas and Jesus Castanos from participating in the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene “New York Knows” National HIV Testing Day event in Union Square this week. This annual event provides New Yorkers with access to free and confidential HIV and STI testing, prevention resources, and health education. The event brought together health care organizations, advocates, and community voices -- like our new friend Brita Filter from SelectHealth provider partner Callen-Lorde Community Health Center, to encourage New Yorkers to know their HIV status. Attendees also received information on HIV prevention, harm reduction resources, and services designed to improve community wellness.
