A second media update for the day. The indefatigable Javier Espinoza has struck again, luring Rebecca Whalley from the Global Competition Review to join The Capitol Forum to write about mergers in the UK from September. This will bring his editorial team to eight, covering competition, tech and trade. His most recent hire was János Allenbach-Ammann, who joined Joanna Sopinska on the trade beat. He's still on the hunt though for a senior M&A journalist in Brussels, but the competition for talent here is fierce. And many journalists are reluctant to leave the safety of legacy media outlets to take their chances on a more niche operation.
