In 2022 I was moving back home in Romania, after spending 5 years in the Netherlands. The engineering there revolved around a simple word: “innovation”! When I came back I wanted to find a place where creativity and engineering could collaborate to create innovation and to challenge me as much as possible. That was possible through Paul Popescu and the question he describes in the post below.  When I first met him and the team of Agora Robotics we had a click, the perspective was different from what I found in other romanian companies (or mentalities), the ideas were flowing, everyone wanted to build something cool but challenging and Paul was the person that believed the most in doing what we sometimes considered “impossible”, especially here in Romania. After all those years, he has even more passion when it comes to engineering, especially robotics, than when we first met. I think that is a mandatory quality when it comes to this domain, especially when you also get into the business parts of it. I consider him a leader when it comes to the team, every time having a hands-on approach on things, always side by side with everyone else, sometimes going the extra mile to make things work, or to deep dive into a “rabbit hole” just out of curiosity. Even with this chapter ending, we achieved a whole lot in the past years, especially experience on things that we did not even know existed when we started. So follow along as the new chapter(s) will be even bigger and, of course, bringing innovation where you would least expect it!
