On World Health Day, we highlight research that is driving progress in early diagnosis and better care. ❤️‍🩹 Last year, VITO received a grant from The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research in collaboration with Amsterdam UMC, to work on the EV PREDICT project. This research focuses on identifying early biomarkers for Parkinson’s disease through a simple blood test. By analysing brain derived extracellular vesicles in blood using advanced proteomics, our researchers aim to detect disease related changes at an earlier stage. Earlier detection can improve diagnosis, enable more targeted clinical trials, and support the move towards personalised care.
