Gabriel joins us at an exciting moment as we expand our R&D efforts in Life Sciences and explore what foundation models can make possible in one of the most complex fields in the world: biology. 🧫 At Visium, we are advancing foundation model research for proteins together with partners from the pharmaceutical and compute ecosystem. The ambition is bold: to help AI search through the vast space of proteins and molecules and identify the rare possibilities that could move closer to becoming medicines. 🧬 Gabriel brings exactly the kind of profile this work needs. His experience spans clinical trials, academic machine learning, product engineering, and applied AI systems. During his PhD in generative retrieval, he focused on a question that now sits at the heart of our life sciences work: how do you find what matters when the space of possibilities is almost limitless? That is what makes this work so exciting. We are not just applying AI to Life Sciences.
